Food was a 4.5. Service was a 5. Ambiance was a 5. It was 5 of us with 5 entrees and drinks, everyone loved their food. Only negative is that they didn't have a baby changing table but we figured it out. We will be back for sure.
Truly the best Colombian food I've had yet! There wasn't anything I didn't enjoy there. Inside decor isn't all that great but don't let that stop you from trying their menu. You will not regret it! My two favorite dishes were the octopus with a side of mash and their to die for shrimp cream sauce and the fried fish with the amzingggg coconut raisin sauce poured all over it. The servers really didn't speak a lot of English but pointing is a universal language lol. Happy eating!
I love Colombian food so was thrilled when my friend suggested Juan Parrilla. We started with chicharrones, which came with tostones. The pork was super crispy and the tostones were excellent. We both got the carne a la Parrilla, which is steak, rice, beans, plantains, and an arepa. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I loved the beans. We had enough for leftovers. I also enjoyed my drink. Service was friendly. There is a lot of seating. Music was a bit too loud for my taste but the vibe was fun. Parking on Western is always tough but you can park on the side streets. I'm looking forward to returning.
YOU HAVE TO BE HUNGRY HUNRGY TO COME HERE (or be ready to take some home) It's my second time coming to Juan Parrilla's -- my sister introduced me. It's a Colombian owned establishment. Everyone is very welcoming and warm. It helps if you speak Spanish as it makes things smoother. The food is amazing! More than enough and filling. For the amount of food you get, the prices are good. They have steak, seafood, chicken, and from what I saw a kids menu. I went the first time and was full and this time was the same. Their drinks both alcoholic and nonalcoholic taste good and are filling. If I'm not wrong, I believe the juices are freshly made there. There's plenty of seating and they allow you to choose where you want to seat. It is great to host large parties as well. I'm sure you just have to call and inform them of large parties. They have a back room if there isn't room in the front. From what I was told, on weekends it turns into a music spot with lights dim and a different environment than the day time. A gentleman came by to check in and took the time to ask how everything was. We later found out he was the owner as you can see in our nice photo. :-) will return in the future. The extras: 1. This is located on a Main Street so you will have to park on side street. No meters just takes time to look 2. They did add an 18% tip on our party of 4 which was surprising but now we know! 3. They do tend to move slow with food so if you're in a rush, this may not be the place for you
I enjoyed everything. Delicious. We had a big table of people. Lots of people got milkshakes, myself included. First time having a guanabana milkshake- I recommend it! Also seems like the alcoholic drinks are good- one person got a tropical fruit flavored margarita. All these big dishes came out at the same time for people. The most epic ones to look at were the plates of meat. Some people got a variety of meats, which included fried pork belly, steak, and sausage, along with rice and beans on the side, and a little potato. My dish was kind of like those dishes, but it was just steak grilled with onions in a nice sauce, with a little potato, plantains, salad, and rice & beans on the side. The beans were more like a red bean soup- which someone likened to a Dominican sancocho. I forgot to mention that they put fried eggs on top of the meat, which was a great indulgent touch! Coffee candies came with the bill- which someone who grew up in Colombia got excited for.
